Unfortunately I don’t have any information on this photo, but my guess is this is a Maasai woman. (Both Maasai and Mursi tribes are known for stretching their piercings, but this woman is wearing woven clothes similar to Maasai, though they usually wear red. Mursi women do not clothe the upper body.) It seems as though this tradition is becoming less apparent nowadays.
I saw this pic in NatGeo when I was like 3 , & it made me want to be a shaman/jeweler when I grew up. I guess being a Piercer is close enough…
Now I have to go to my parents’ house to try & find this issue…
